Before you can make an application to the Employment Tribunal you are required to ask ACAS for Early Conciliation. It is ACAS’s job to see if they can help to resolve the dispute between you and your employer. ACAS act as a mediator and have the power to make a settlement legally binding. It is important to recognise that ACAS do not provide you with advice although they will strive to ensure that you are not taken advantage of.
